PEAKTEAMS measures teams. But every team is made of individuals, and a leader who wants to understand why a team behaves the way it does usually starts by understanding how they themselves lead, communicate and cope with pressure. So we built six self-assessments and put them at peakteams.io/resources, free, with no account required.
This post covers what each one measures, how long it takes, what you get at the end, and how it connects to the team product.
The six tests
| Test | The question it answers | Length | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leadership Style Assessment | How do I lead, and do I adapt when the situation changes? | 64 questions, 13 to 15 minutes | One of nine leadership styles, seven practices and an adaptability score |
| Work Personality Test | How do I work best, and how should others work with me? | 56 questions, 9 to 10 minutes | One of eleven work types, five traits based on the Big Five model, and your ideal environment |
| Emotional Intelligence Test | How well do I read myself and others, and do I keep it together under pressure? | 52 questions, 9 to 10 minutes | An EQ score, four domains, one of five EQ styles and how you act in eight situations |
| Communication Style Quiz | How do I come across when I talk, write and disagree? | 38 questions, 7 to 8 minutes | One of four communication styles, four communication skills and your style under pressure |
| Work Values Test | What matters most to me at work, and what would I trade for it? | 45 questions, 7 to 8 minutes | Ten ranked work values, your core three, your orientation and the trade-offs you feel |
| Burnout Test | Am I burned out, or just tired? And what is driving it? | 51 questions, 9 to 11 minutes | A strain level, one of seven burnout profiles and your pressure points |
Each test ends with a results page you can read straight away, not a teaser with the real answer behind a paywall. The result names a type or style, explains it in plain language, shows the sub-scores it is built from, and gives you something to do with it.
Why free, and why no account
We get asked this. Three reasons.
- The honest answer is the useful one. Self-assessments only work when you answer candidly, and people are more candid when nothing is being collected about them. Removing the sign-up removes the hesitation.
- They should be shareable. A leader who finds the Communication Style Quiz useful should be able to send it to the whole team without asking anyone to create anything. A link is enough.
- Our product is about teams. The self-assessments are how many people first meet PEAKTEAMS. If they are good, some of those people will want to look at their team next. That is the business model, and we would rather be open about it.
What happens to your answers
While you take a test, your answers stay in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers to score them. When you reach the results page you have a choice: close the tab and nothing is stored, or create an account and keep the result so you can come back to it. If you keep it, you can delete it at any time.
Saved results live in the same EU-hosted infrastructure as the team product, with the same access controls. The data privacy page has the details, including where the servers are.
How this connects to the team product
An individual result tells one half of the story. It tells you how you lead; it cannot tell you how the team experiences being led. It tells you your communication style; it cannot tell you whether the team feels heard. The second half is what the team survey measures: 18 KPIs scored by every team member, combined into a Team Net Value from 0 to 100, with one of 16 team identities to put the numbers in context.
The two fit together in practice. A leader with a directive style whose team scores low on Communication Culture has a specific thing to work on. A team whose members have very different core work values, found through the Work Values Test, will often show low agreement on Purpose & Objectives in the team survey. Neither tool explains the other completely, but each makes the other easier to read.
If you are curious about the team side, the free team assessment is the shortest route: 57 questions, about 8 minutes, no account, and you get a first Team Net Value and team identity. Our guide to team performance metrics explains what the 18 KPIs cover.
