Your core values
Growth · Autonomy · Impact
Learning, freedom and a cause you believe in.
What you'll find out
Your ten values, ranked
Achievement, Autonomy, Growth, Impact, Recognition, Belonging, Balance, Influence, Creativity and Security, scored and ranked, with your core three on top.
Your orientation
The values group into Drive, Exploration, Connection and Grounding. Your orientation says what kind of environment feeds you.
What to look for, and what drains you
Concrete signals for each core value when you look at a role or a team, and the two values you can trade away more easily than most people.
The trade-offs you feel
The pairs where you were torn between two values that both matter to you: the decisions that will feel hardest in real life.
How it works
Part 1
What matters to you
30 questions
Three statements per value, rated from “not important” to “essential”. Think about what you would miss most if it were gone.
Part 2
Trade-offs
15 questions
Pairs where both sides are worth having. Choosing between them is what turns “everything is important” into a real ranking.

Built on work-values research, with forced choices
Research on work values (from Super’s work values inventory to Schwartz’s theory of basic values) converges on a small set of things people want from work: achievement, autonomy, growth, purpose, recognition, relationships, balance, influence, creativity and security. This test uses those ten, in plain language.
Rating scales alone produce “everything is important”. So the second part forces choices: fifteen pairs where both sides are attractive. Your final score blends the ratings (60 percent) with the trade-offs (40 percent), which is why two people who rate everything “essential” can still get very different rankings.
Values shift with life stages and circumstances. Retake the test after a big change; the comparison is often more useful than either result on its own.
A reflection tool about what matters to you at work, not a validated psychometric test and not for hiring or promotion decisions.
Questions and answers
How long does the work values test take?
About 7 to 8 minutes for 30 ratings and 15 trade-off pairs. Your progress is saved in your browser after every answer.
Is this values test free?
Yes. Your core values, full ranking and orientation are free without signing up. The full report is free too, with a free account so you can keep it.
What are work values?
Work values are the things you need from work to find it worthwhile: what you optimize for when you choose a job, a team or a project. They differ from skills (what you can do) and personality (how you tend to behave).
How is this different from a core values quiz?
Most core values quizzes ask you to pick words from a list. This test rates ten defined values and then makes you choose between them in trade-offs, so the ranking reflects what you would actually give up, not what sounds good.
Can a team use it?
Yes. Comparing core values across a team shows where friction comes from, for example one person optimizing for pace and another for safety. The full report ends with questions to open that conversation.
What happens to my answers?
They stay in your browser while you take the test. They are only stored if you create an account and keep your result, and you can delete it at any time.
